Aniu Mid-Autumn Festival Concert

Aniu putting on a marvellous performance for the audience

Malaysian singer and film director, Tan Kheng Seong, better known as Aniu (阿牛), organised the Aniu Mid-Autumn Festival Concert at Dewan Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik of UTAR Kampar Campus on 10 September 2022.

The open-air concert was also live-streamed on Aniu’s official Facebook page to share the joy with more people. It was a success with more than 1,000 audience attended physically and more than 8,000 audience attended via live stream.

Held in collaboration with UTAR, the concert was attended by UTAR Board of Trustees Chairman Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Sak Cheng Lum and Puan Sri Sak; Toh Puan Ena Ling, UTAR Hospital Board Chairman and UTAR Council Member Ir Academician Emeritus Prof Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Chuah Hean Teik, UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat, UTAR Council Member Datuk Lim Si Cheng, UTAR Council Member Mr Hew Fen Yee, UTAR Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations Prof Dr Choong Chee Keong, UTAR T&CM Centre Director Assoc Prof Dr Te Kian Keong, UTAR staff and students, and Kampar residents.

The concert kicked off with a Mid-Autumn-themed song performed by Aniu and his crew titled “Yue Liang Yuan” (月亮圆). The night saw them performing a total of 11 melodious songs altogether. Among the songs performed by Aniu were “Mamak 档”, “Say I Love You Using Malaysian Weather” (用马来西亚的天气来说爱你), “Gan Cui” (干脆), “Cry” (哭) and “Dui Mian De Nuu Hai Kan Guo Lai” (对面的女孩看过来), to name a few.

UTAR students also made it to the spotlight on the stage when they performed the song “Chun Wen Yi De Lian Ai” (纯文艺的恋爱) together with Aniu and his crew.

In between the performances, Dr Te and Tan Sri Chuah were invited to introduce the structure, plans, and benefits of UTAR Hospital to Aniu and the audience.

As the concert was coming to an end, a surprise performance was given by Prof Ewe, who played the Erhu (Chinese fiddle) alongside Aniu and his crew, while performing the song “Yue Liang Yuan” (月亮圆).

On 29 October 2022, another concert will be held in collaboration with UTAR at Dewan Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik, which will feature more exciting performances by Aniu and his crew. The concert will be held to raise funds for UTAR Hospital.
