In conjunction with the 65th National Day, the Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) of Kampar Campus organised Digital Poster and Essay Writing Competition 2022 followed by the prize-giving ceremony on 24 August 2022. 

Present at the ceremony were CFS Kampar Campus Director Ts Tan Lee Siew, Deputy Director for Students Affairs and Development Lim Khiew Loon, CFS Heads of Department (HoDs) Pakialetchumy Antoni and Tsen Tzu Yee, Organising Chairpersons Yuvashini Salvamani and Sree Amertharaj Ratnam, CFS academic staff, participants and students.

The ceremony began with an opening speech by CFS Director Ts Tan, who said, “I would like to extend my appreciation to all the participants for their talents, creativity and innovation showcased at these competitions.  I also appreciate the organising committee’s effort and initiative to provide a platform for the students to value patriotism and to show their love for the country.”

Organising Chairperson Yuvashini expressed her thanks to the co-chairperson and explained that these competitions meant to promote the spirit of patriotism among the students as well as provide them an opportunity to showcase their talents, skills and ideas. “We are glad that we received more submissions than expected. We received 23 submissions for digital poster competition and 31 submissions for essay writing competition which amounted to a total of 54 submissions,” she said. She also added that both the competitions were in line with the National Day theme of Keluarga Malaysia Teguh Bersama.

A short video presentation featuring all the entries of both competitions was played. It was followed by a prize-giving ceremony for the winners, runners-ups and consolation prize winners for both the digital poster and essay writing competitions.

Digital Poster Competition

Winner: Lee Chia Seng (Marketing)
1st Runner Up: Lai Chun Yip (Foundation in Arts)
2nd Runner Up: Chang Xin Ron (Advertising)

Consolation Prizes:
1. Choong Rune Yuen (Foundation in Arts)
2. Joey Lim Cin Yi (Advertising)

Essay Writing Competition

Winner: Chin Jun Yaw (Advertising)
1st Runner Up: Daniel Gan Kien Wei (Entrepreneurship)
2nd Runner Up: Priscilla Patrick Anthoney (Finance)

Consolation Prizes:
1. Ang Ying Ying (Commerce Accounting)
2. Chan Hei Yann (Foundation in Arts)

The ceremony ended after a group photo of guests, the organising committee and prize winners.
