Prof Dato’ Ewe elucidating the scope of the collaboration

Prof Dato’ Ewe said, “It marks a memorable and meaningful collaboration for UTAR and Xiamen University of Malaysia. Through this official collaboration, we will work together on various medical projects, including clinical training, exchanges of medical students and experts, academic staff visitations, and conduct medical research. I hope both universities will succeed in nurturing talents in various fields and assist with China-Malaysia’s shared development of Belt and Road Initiative, thus making significant contributions to our respective economies.”

He added, “We need to make efforts and work together to make traditional Chinese medicine a widely acknowledged field in Malaysia. This will lead people to view it as one of the effective treatment alternatives.”

Prof Qian expressing his awe toward UTAR T&CM Centre

In his speech, Prof Qian said, “Our collaboration will mainly focus on the medical field. Our sincere gratitude to UTAR; for years, they have been offering great support towards the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Xiamen University of Malaysia, especially in the areas of academic and scientific research. When we visited the T&CM Centre about a month ago, we thought the centre’s layout, especially the traditional Chinese medicine section would be a great platform for our medical students to learn and train. In the future, we hope UTAR T&CM Centre will become a base to nurture our students into competent traditional Chinese medicine practitioners.”

An exchange of tokens of appreciation between both parties and a group photography session marked the end of the visitation.
