Visit by Manchester Metropolitan University

Manchester Metropolitan University International Faculty Head of Arts and Humanities Dr Rachelle Viader Knowles visited UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 5 April 2023. The aim of the visit was to seek and discuss possible collaboration opportunities.

Dr Rachelle was welcomed by Faculty of Creative Industries (FCI) Dean Dr David Tneh Cheng Eng, Faculty of Arts and Social Science Dean Dr Lee Lai Meng, FCI Department of Mass Communication Acting Head Chew Wee Lee, FCI Department of Multimedia Design and Animation Head Dr Wan Irma Sabrina binti Idris, FCI Department of Modern Languages Head Maxwell Sim Yik Seng, Division of Community and International Networking (DCInterNet) Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn, and DCInterNet Manager Furnny Ong.

During the discussion

During the discussion, UTAR representatives and Dr Rachelle discussed the possibility of inviting a professor from the Manchester School of Arts as one of UTAR’s external examiners. Other than that, the two parties also explored the student exchange programmes and cyber classrooms offered at their respective universities.

Dr Rachelle was also invited as a guest lecturer for UTAR FAS and FCI students in Journalism. At the meeting, an invitation was also extended to Dr Rachelle to join MWST 3.0 for the coming season.
