MoU with KPBKL

UTAR and Kolej Profesional Baitulmal Kuala Lumpur (KPBKL) signed a memorandum of understanding at UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 12 April 2023. The MoU was signed by UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat and KPBKL Chief Executive Officer Radzuan Razali. It was witnessed by UTAR Vice President for R&D and Commercialisation Prof Ts Dr Faidz bin Abd Rahman and KPBKL Registrar Rokiah Yunus.

Through this MoU, UTAR and KPBKL will work together to advance research in the fields of Islamic Finance and Banking, Business, the halal industry, and information and communication technology, as well as joint talent training programme. Aside from that, both parties will facilitate academic development exchanges in the areas of joint research projects, share knowledge and expertise, and participate in academic conferences and workshops. In addition, UTAR and KPBKL will facilitate KPBKL’s diploma students to pursue undergraduate degree programmes at UTAR.

Prof Dato’ Ewe said, “This MoU represents a significant step forward in our efforts to build strong, collaborative relationships with institutions around the world. I am confident that this MoU will pave the way for many fruitful partnerships and opportunities for our universities and students.”

Radzuan Razali said, “This ceremony gives meaning to KPBKL to go further in the education industry. I am eager to see this cooperation run smoothly and successfully. I hope this cooperation can benefit both institutions.”

Also, present at the signing ceremony were KPBKL Assistant Registrar Yunus bin Ali, Training & Consultancy Director Kamarul Azhar, Dean (FPT) Yusnifarina Yunus, Dean (FPKI) Siti Nur Azzyati Saharudin, Assistant Registrar Mohd Norhafifi Rahim and Community Networking and Special Project Unit Head Kasniah Neni. UTAR was represented by Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM) Dean Dr Pok Wei Fong, FAM Department of International Business Head Fitriya binti Abdul Rahim, FAM academic Dr Farah Waheeda binti Jalaludin, FAM academic Ezatul Emilia binti Muhammad Arif, Centre for Extension Education Director Assoc Prof Ir Dr Lim Jee Hock, Centre for Corporate and Community Development (CCCD) Director Lim Guat Yen,  Division of Community and International Networking Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn, Department of Consultancy and Commercialisation Manager Hamrizal bin Haris and CCCD Sakunthala Kalingan.
