Maybank gives talk on MAE App

The Department of Commerce and Accountancy, and the Department of Banking and Risk Management of UTAR Faculty of Business and Finance (FBF) jointly organised a talk titled “MAE for Education” on 12 April 2023 at UTAR Kampar Campus. Maybank Ipoh Garden Branch Manager YM Raja Rosemaria and Region Acquisition Executive Eemira were invited to deliver the talk.

The talk aimed to educate students and staff about the benefits of using the MAE e-wallet app and help them develop saving habits. MAE stands for Maybank Anytime, Everyone. It is an e-wallet that allows users to transfer money, pay bills, reload and scan & pay using the QR scan. It only takes up to five minutes to activate the MAE e-wallet. With the activation of the MAE e-wallet, students can operate multiple payment methods like QRPay, ATM withdrawal cash, Debit Card payment, JomPay and DuitNow.

The webinar kicked off with an opening remark from FBF Head of Department of Commerce and Accountancy Sonia Johanthan, who thanked the speakers from Maybank for taking the time to give an insightful talk to the staff and students. Next, the speakers proceeded with their sharing.

After hearing the talk, participants recognised that users can discover and choose their favourite local delights and support local merchants through the “Sama-Sama Lokal” initiatives in the MAE app. This initiative will catalyse zeal among students to start their own businesses via the “Sama-Sama Lokal” platform.

The participants also benefitted by discovering useful features available in the MAE app. One of the features is the Tabung facet which enables students to manage and track their expenses while having a good saving habit. Apart from that, educational articles on financial tips and the latest news were available in the MAE app to keep students updated.
