MonsoonSIM training for FBF academics

UTAR Faculty of Business and Finance (FBF) organised a training course and a competition on MonsoonSIM at Kampar Campus on 17 and 18 April 2023. The invited trainer was the Director of MonsoonSIM Singapore, Alex Ong.

The purpose of the training was to coach four FBF academics, namely Azni Suhaily binti Samsuri, Che Siti Lazrina binti Md Lazim, Nur Diyana binti Ismail and Zulnurhaini binti Zolkaply to become a MonsoonSIM trainer. The aforementioned academics who successfully completed the two-day training were certified to be MonsoonSIM trainers.

The training, which was in line with experiential learning, engaged the participants to learn by experiencing and exploring the MonsoonSIM business simulations. The participants acquired knowledge on enterprise business concept, change management, team building, and data analytic studies through the MonsoonSIM business simulations. Apart from that, Ong shared the concepts that were aligned with MonSoonSIM like finance, retail sales, procurement, marketing, warehouse or logistics, wholesales, production, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), maintenance, Human Resource, customer service and e-Commerce.

Day two of the course saw another eight FBF academics experiencing the platform and participating in the competition conducted by MonSoonSIM. Three teams were awarded top three winners while the remaining participants were gifted with consolation prizes. There were two members on each team.

MonsoonSIM is an award-winning business simulation and gamification education platform. The course combines simulation and gamification to simulate real-world business processes and environments.
