KLESF collaborates with AIESEC to organise training workshop

The Kuala Lumpur Engineering Science Fair (KLESF) collaborated with the International Association of Students in Economics and Business (AIESEC) in Kedah-Perlis (Malaysia) to organise a training workshop titled “The Art of Engineering Workshop” on 28 February 2023 via Zoom. The workshop was held as part of a community project called “Speak Up” and KLESF received an invitation to collaborate as the learning partner.

Centred on the format “Train-the-Trainers”, the objective of the workshop was to provide training to AIESEC volunteers so that they could, in return, train other volunteers. This workshop included a total of nine university volunteers from AIESEC. Upon undergoing the workshop, they will train another 60 underprivileged high school students in Kedah and Perlis. UTAR Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science Head of Master of Civil Engineering Programme Ir Dr Kwong Kok Zee was invited to facilitate the workshop.

The workshop included a discussion on basic engineering concepts regarding bridges, buildings, and structures, and hands-on activities like building bridges using paper for secondary school students.
