A memorandum of understanding
(MoU) was signed between UTAR and TASCO Berhad at Sungai Long Campus on 28
July 2023. Signing the MoU were UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat
and TASCO Berhad Deputy Group CEO Tan Kim Yong, while witnessing the signing
ceremony were UTAR Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic
Development Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min and TASCO Berhad General Manager of HR
Division Chin Yew Chon.
In his speech, Prof Dato’ Ewe
said, “This MoU marks the beginning of a transformative partnership that
will undoubtedly shape the future of education and industry collaboration.
At UTAR, our commitment has always been to provide our students with a
comprehensive and world-class education that prepares them to face the
challenges of the ever-changing global landscape. Today’s collaboration with
TASCO Berhad will further reinforce this commitment and open up new doors of
opportunity for our students and faculty.”
Chin said, “For the past few
years, TASCO Berhad has constantly improved the infrastructure for business
expansion and human capital is also an important area that we are looking
at. The demand from customers is everchanging and we are always in the
process of learning and adapting to remain relevant. I believe through such
collaboration, we will be able to hire the right talent.”
Under the MoU, UTAR and TASCO
Berhad will work together in the areas of internship, graduate employment,
consultancy and training as well as the design and development of UTAR
programmes.
