Visit by University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao, Philippines

UTAR Division of Quality Assurance and Audit (DQAA) welcomed the Executive Assistant to the President, Dr Luisa B. Aquino, from the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (Philippines) to Sungai Long Campus on 2 August 2023.

She was welcomed by UTAR Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min (from Kampar Campus via video conference), Academic Quality Assurance and Audit Dean Ir Prof Dr Rajkumar Durairaj, Centre for Curriculum Development and Innovation (CCDI) Head Dr Ngeow Yeok Meng, CCDI Sungai Long Campus Deputy Head Dr Khaw Mei Kum and DQAA Assistant Manager Jayalechumi Gunasegaran. CCDI Kampar Campus Deputy Head Dr Zam Zuriyati binti Mohamad and DQAA Head of Department of Quality Assurance Lam Soon Wai joined the meeting online from Kampar Campus.

The visit commenced with a captivating UTAR corporate video, followed by a warm welcome speech from Prof Goi. Subsequently, Dr Luisa, Prof Rajkumar and Dr Khaw each delivered their presentations, sharing their university’s Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and Quality Assurance (QA) concepts and evaluation systems. The meeting was enriched by a dynamic Q&A session where representatives from UTAR and the University of Saint Louis actively exchanged knowledge, discussed issues, and offered valuable tips to enhance evaluation practices in both institutions. The meeting fostered an enjoyable atmosphere, and both parties expressed deep satisfaction with the exchange of fruitful knowledge and experience.

The visit ended with a souvenir exchange session and a group photography session.
