Dr Zhang Jincheng, Dean of the School of International Education (Director)

Planning Prof Dr Cheng Deng and Chinese Dean of Shen Jai Confucius Institute
Assoc Prof Bei Ni.
Welcoming them were UTAR Vice President for
Internationalisation and Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min,
Director of the Division of Community and International Networking
(DCInterNet) Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn, Lee Kong Chian Faculty of
Engineering and Science Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial
Training Assoc Prof Ts Dr Lee Kim Yee, Dean of Institute of Chinese Studies
(Sungai Long Campus) Assoc Prof Dr Chong Siou Wei, Head of Electrical and
Electronic Engineering Department Assoc Prof Ir Dr Chang Yoong Choon and
DCInterNet Senior Assistant Manager Ms Liu Dan.
During the discussion, Prof Goi introduced the
programmes offered by UTAR and highlighted the student exchange programmes
and faculty partnerships. Dr Lee and Dr Chang, on the other hand, proposed a
well-rounded student engagement plan, which included exchange programmes,
projects, research collaborations, and study trips to foster diverse skills
and intercultural awareness.
XDU representatives highlighted the significance of
multicultural exchanges for students to broaden their horizons. They also
emphasised the importance of university internationalisation and proposed
the establishment of a centre to facilitate collaborative research.
