UTAR received visitors from Jining University, China on 1 December 2023 at UTAR Kampar Campus.

The visitors consisted of Jining University Vice President Prof Yin Chunguang, School of Humanities and Communication Dean Dr Wang Yongchao, School of Confucian Business Dean Prof Huo Yuhui, and School of International Education Section Chief Ms Ding Wenxia.

The visitors were welcomed by UTAR Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations Prof Dr Choong Chee Keong, Faculty of Engineering and Green Technology (FEGT) Dean Ir Prof Dr Ng Choon Aun, Institute of Chinese Studies (ICS) Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial Training Dr Ling Liong Ngo, FEGT academic Assoc Prof Dr Guo Xinxin, Centre for Extension Education (CEE) Assistant Manager Mr Chee Cheng Jin, and UTAR staff.

The visit saw an in-depth discussion held between both parties at the Administration Block of UTAR Kampar Campus. It was joined virtually by UTAR Division of Programme Promotion (DPP) Director Mr Lee Choy Fong.

During the discussion, Prof Choong and Prof Yin gave a brief overview of the development of UTAR and Jining University respectively, which was followed by a discussion on potential collaboration in areas, including student exchange programme, joint resource in Chinese studies programmes, PhD programmes for university academics, postgraduate programmes, joint undergraduate programmes, and joint online courses. Both parties expressed keen interest in student and academic exchange, as well as joint programmes in the fields of engineering, Chinese studies, and business and finance.

The visit concluded with an exchange of tokens of appreciation and a group photography session.
