A memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony
was held between UTAR and JYY Group on 26 November 2023 at Four Seasons
Hotel KL. The MoU has announced a comprehensive research plan on Malaysia’s
superfoods, with a particular focus on Stingless Bee Honey and concentrated
anti-ageing bird’s nest.
Signing the MoU were JYY Group Founder and Chief
Executive Officer Mr Alan Tan and UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong
Tat. The witnesses were JYY Group Co-Founder and Sales Director Mr Andy Tan
and Director of Division of Community and International Networking
(DCInterNet) Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn.
Both parties aspire to introduce more high-quality
health products manufactured in Malaysia to the global market through this
collaboration. As an expression of gratitude and a commitment to giving back
to society, JYY Group announced a donation of a cheque worth RM100,000 to
UTAR, intended to support underprivileged students in their academic
pursuits. Mr Alan Tan stated that this scholarship is a significant
milestone that marks the beginning of JYY Group’s societal contribution
plan.
Through this collaboration, JYY Group and UTAR will
jointly explore Malaysia’s abundant natural resources, and promote the
research and development and global dissemination of natural health
products, contributing to individuals’ overall well-being.
In summary, this collaboration is not only driven by
commercial interests but also aims to preserve culture, give back to
society, and support young scholars in taking firm steps on their
educational journey.
