Bridging Health and Tradition: UTAR Traditional Chinese Medicine Community Service offers free diagnosis and treatment to Serendah residents

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners at UTAR reached out to the community of Serendah to offer free diagnosis and treatment. The community service event aimed to promote the integration of traditional healing methods into modern healthcare practices while enhancing the overall well-being of the community.

The community service event, which took place on 19 November 2023 from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm at Hokkien Hoay Kuan, located in Serendah, Selangor, provided residents of Serendah with an opportunity to experience the benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine firsthand.

TCM is renowned for its holistic approach to healthcare, focusing on balancing the body, mind, and spirit. With that in mind, the community service team addressed various health concerns through methods such as blood pressure checking, tui na used along with acupuncture, moxibustion, fire cupping, auscultation, and dietary advice.

Residents were encouraged to take advantage of the free diagnosis services offered by the experienced TCM practitioners. Each individual received personalised treatment plans tailored to their specific health needs. This initiative not only provided an opportunity for the community to explore alternative healthcare options but also allowed them to benefit from the expertise of skilled practitioners.
