UTAR received guests from Shandong Foreign Trade Vocational College, China (SFTC) at UTAR Kampar Campus on 11 December 2023.

The visitors consisted of SFTC President Prof Diao Jiandong, SFTC Office of International Affairs Director Mr Mao Shiming, SFTC Incubator Base of Cross-border E-commerce Director Mr Gao Tengfei, and SFTC staff.

Also accompanying the visitors were Qingdao Top Education Management Co., Ltd Chairman Dr Dong Quanxian and Qingdao Top Education Management Co., Ltd staff.

The visitors were welcomed by UTAR Faculty of Business and Finance (FBF) Dean Assoc Prof Dr Au Yong Hui Nee, FBF Head of Department of Finance Dr Lee Chee Loong, FBF Visiting Scholar Mr Lin Bing, and UTAR staff.

During the visit, both parties discussed collaborative initiatives in areas such as academic and student exchange programmes; joint research, joint training programmes, postgraduate programmes, and overseas internship programmes. The discussion was joined virtually by Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM) academics Dr Farah Waheeda binti Jalaludin and Puan Ezatul Emilia binti Muhammad Arif.

Both parties showed keen interest in collaborating in academic fields, such as e-commerce, logistics, and accounting, with Prof Diao and Dr Au Yong discussing that the fields of disciplines hold great potential in the modern digital world.

Dr Farah Waheeda also shared her positive thoughts on the China aid programmes organised by SFTC. In response, Prof Diao shared that SFTC will organise more training programmes in the future.

The visit ended with an exchange of tokens of appreciation and a group photography session.
