National Pingtung University visits to discuss upcoming USR projects

UTAR received a group of delegates from the National Pingtung University (NPTU), Taiwan at UTAR Kampar Campus on 14 December 2023.

The group was led by NPTU Academic Vice President Prof Dr Bai-Jiun Shih. He was accompanied by NPTU Office of International Affairs Dean Prof Dr Kelvin Huang-Chou Chen, and NPTU Office of International Affairs Project Assistant Ms Chi-Hui Chung.

The visitors were welcomed by UTAR Faculty of Science (FSc) Dean Assoc Prof Dr Lim Tuck Meng, Division of Community and International Networking (DCInterNet) Deputy Director Dr Chen, I-Chi, Head of Department of Soft Skills Competency (DSSC) of Kampar Campus Ms Hee Chwen Yee, Head of Department of Student Affairs (DSA) of Kampar Campus Mr Chiang Jeng Fong, and UTAR staff.

A discussion was held between both universities on the two upcoming joint university social responsibility (USR) projects. Besides, both universities also discussed other potential collaborations, including organising study tours, summer camps and STEM workshops, as well as, coordinating student and academic exchange programmes.

The attendees also seized the opportunity to share their passion in seeking strategies to captivate students with the marvel of STEM, in hope of injecting enthusiasm in more students in the field of STEM.

The visit ended with an exchange of tokens of appreciation and a group photography session.
