The Internal Quality Audit (IQA) exercise of 2023 was conducted by UTAR's Department of Internal Audit (DIA) from July to October 2023.

UTAR received the ISO9001:2015 certification from SIRIM on 7 May 2018 for Medical and Health Science and Financial Management services.

With a dedicated team of 26 auditors, the 2023 IQA exercise focused on the compliance to ISO 9001: 2015 standards for medical and health sciences educational services for undergraduate programmes offered by M. Kandiah Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (MK FMHS) and financial management services by Division of Finance (DFN). In addition, 14 support departments were also audited as part of the ISO 9001: 2015 IQA exercise.
