UTAR CRIE officially nominated to be part of Selangor Rail Industry Council

On 19 January 2023, UTAR Centre for Railway Infrastructure and Engineering (CRIE) was officially nominated to be part of Selangor Rail Industry Council of Invest Selangor. The meeting took place at Dorsett Grand Subang Hotel, where topics such as the approaches to develop human capital and maintaining the ecosystem of the rail industry in Selangor were discussed. Representing UTAR at the meeting was CRIE Chairperson Assoc Prof Ir Dr Chua Kein Huat.

Furthermore, Dr Chua was also officially appointed as a member of the Selangor Rail Industry Council, which was established by Invest Selangor in 2021. As a member, Dr Chua will represent CRIE to provide advice to Invest Selangor on rail-related matters and facilitate the growth of the rail industry in Selangor.

Invest Selangor visited UTAR Sungai Long Campus previously on 8 December 2022 to discuss potential collaboration with UTAR CRIE, in facilitating the development of human capital in the rail industry via training and certification courses, as well as R&D activities.

Dr Chua alongside UTAR Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min and LKC FES academic Dr Hau Lee Cheun will be heading to Germany on 23 February 2023 to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with REHAU Germany.
