Delegates from Chongqing Finance and Economics College visit UTAR

A group of delegates from Chongqing Finance and Economics College, China visited UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 7 February 2023.

The delegates consisted of Chongqing Finance and Economics College Vice President Dr Zhang Li and International Office for Chongqing Finance and Economics College Director Shi Zhuanzhuan.

They were welcomed by UTAR Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min, Faculty of Accountancy and Management Dean Dr Pok Wei Fong, Institute of Postgraduate Studies and Research Director Assoc Prof Dr Yong Thian Khok, Centre for Extension Education Director Assoc Prof Ir Dr Lim Jee Hock and Division of Programme Promotion Director Lee Choy Fong.

Also joining from Kampar Campus via video conference was Faculty of Business and Finance Dean Assoc Prof Dr Au Yong Hui Nee.

The visit aimed to build rapport and promote mutual understanding between UTAR and Chongqing Finance and Economics College, China. It also aimed to discuss opportunities for future collaboration between both parties.

The meeting commenced with the presentation of the UTAR corporate video to enhance the delegates’ understanding of the overall development of the University. Prof Goi, in his speech, said that there are plenty of areas in which UTAR and Chongqing Finance and Economics College, China can work together. He looks forward to discussing them further on. On the other hand, Dr Zhang Li gave an introduction about Chongqing Finance and Economics College, China and its developments, and expressed his willingness to create a stronger link with UTAR. He also hopes to explore more areas of collaboration.

An in-depth discussion was carried out between both institutions, which promoted the exchange of information. Among the possible areas of collaboration discussed were sharing of expertise and joint development of research, staff and student exchanges, academic development exchanges, study tours, industrial placement, etc.

The meeting ended with a souvenir exchange and a group photography session.
