Sun Zi's Art of War and Business Strategies Book Launch

The launching of the book “Sun Zi’s Art of War and Business Strategies” was held at Sungai Long Campus on 2 February 2023. The book was authored by Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM) academic Dr Sia Bee Chuan, Faculty of Business and Finance (FBF) academic Dr Ng Lee Peng, FBF Senior Lecturer Kuar Lok Sin, and FAM Assoc Prof Dr Law Kian Aun.

Present at the book launch were FAM Dean Dr Pok Wei Fong, SJ Learning Director Wee San Jong, “Sun Zi’s Art of War and Business Strategies” book authors, staff and academics.

The book “Sun Zi’s Art of War and Business Strategies” was written and structured based on real-life examples to fit within the Malaysian context. On top of that, the book featured a total of 13 chapters filled with deep and meaningful proverbs, all preserved and written over 2,500 years ago by Sun Zi.

Besides acting as a guide and reference for the students, the book aimed to provide students with a better understanding of Sun Zi’s Art of War to prepare them for one of UTAR’s compulsory course programmes— UKMM 1011 Sun Zi’s Art of War and Business Strategies.

Dr Law said, “If we put others’ interest as part of our most important objective, then we will not be afraid of any challenges that lie ahead.” Quoting Sun Zi, he said, “Treat your men as you would your own beloved sons. And they will follow you into the deepest valley.”

“The hard copy of the book is priced around RM300 and the soft copy will be made available via Shopee for only RM49.90,” Dr Law finally added.
