Tsun Jin High School visits Sungai Long Campus for Mathematics Workshop

A group of three teachers and 57 students from Tsun Jin High School participated in the Mathematics Workshop, organised by STEM Outreach at UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 20 February 2023. The workshop was conducted by Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science academic Dr Ng Kooi Huat. The aim of the visitation and workshop was to expand students’ knowledge of data analysis and statistics through the use of Microsoft Excel “Spreadsheet”.

On top of that, it was a good opportunity for Tsun Jin High School students to learn about the lifestyle and daily activities of the university students at UTAR Sungai Long Campus. The staff from the Division of Programme Promotion gave the school students a tour around UTAR KA and KB blocks which enabled them to explore the facilities and the environment of the University.

Ng Zhen Hao, a Form 3 student from Tsun Jin High School stated that he manages to learn a lot throughout the visitation. Despite not knowing what course he would like to major in, Ng said that he is interested in pursuing his studies at UTAR in the near future. He also stated that he is keen to take part in any activities or workshops held by UTAR.

Overall, the students all expressed themselves with big smiles on their faces knowing that they have gained insightful knowledge and experience throughout the Mathematics Workshop and visitation.
