SMJK Yu Hua Kajang visit UTAR

A group of teachers from SMJK Yu Hua, Kajang paid a visit to UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 11 February 2023. The visit saw a total of 166 teachers including the school principal, Lean Kee Fong. The objectives of the visit were to build mutual understanding between UTAR and SMJK Yu Hua and discuss potential plans and collaborations.

Upon the arrival of the visitors to the campus, they were given a brief introduction about UTAR; also, the courses it offers by Division of Programme Promotion (DPP) Senior Assistant Manager Tan Zhi Peng. They were also briefed about the facilities provided at UTAR. After that, a talk on preventative health practices under Traditional and Complementary Medicine (TCM) was successfully conducted by the Director of UTAR Traditional & Complementary Medicine Centre (T&CM Centre), Assoc Prof Dr Te Kian Keong.

Next, a guided campus tour was given to the visitors which enabled them to experience the campus ambience. The guests also learnt about the introductory and exploratory programmes of TCM including the prescriptions of the T&CM internal medicine when they visited the T&CM Centre. The visitors were also given demonstrations on various practical applications of TCM such as Tuina, acupuncture and so on.

Overall, the visit was a success. The guests were delighted as they were well equipped with insightful knowledge on the roles of TCM in promoting health and wellness.
