The UTAR STEM Outreach
organised STEM
Outreach Day for 196 students at SJK(C) Sungai Way on 12 June 2023. The
objective of the event was to stimulate primary school students’ interest
towards STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
A total of six sessions, involving various
educational activities, were conducted for the students. Among the
activities conducted were a walking gait analysis and an introduction to
chemistry elements. The students also had the chance to make cheese and
yoghurt in one of the sessions, focusing on biology applications in daily
life. Last but not least, the students also participated in first-aid
bandaging workshop, HIV & HPV talks, and anti-bullying talk.
Overall, STEM Outreach Day gave students the
opportunity to dive further into STEM-related fields. They all gained
valuable knowledge and hands-on experience through the activities and
workshops held on that day.
