In an effort to foster learning and personal development among secondary school students, the UTAR Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) of Kampar Campus embarked on two exciting school engagement projects in Ipoh and Gerik. The first project took place at Shen Jai High School, Ipoh on 16 June 2023, while the second project was held at SMK Batu 4, Gerik on 22 June 2023.

At Shen Jai High School, CFS Kampar Campus academic P. Bhargkavi kicked off the event by administering and explaining the RIASEC Test, helping students to understand their personal capabilities and potential career paths. CFS Kampar Campus academic Noor Aina Farhana binti Zulkifli then took the stage to deliver a captivating talk titled “How to Play to Your Strength”, highlighting the importance of identifying and harnessing one’s strength to achieve goals. Additionally, CFS Kampar Campus academic Kow Li Fen enlightened the participants with an intriguing talk on “Introduction to Psychology”, introducing the field of psychology and its practical applications. The activities drew the participation of over 300 students.

Meanwhile, at SMK Batu 4, Bhargkavi delivered an engaging talk titled “The Power of Focus” to more than 100 students. Aimed at helping students to understand the practice of controlling distractions and maximising their focus, Bhargkavi shared practical tips and strategies to enhance focus and shed lights on the importance of focus in achieving success.

Students who participated in the projects commended the activities and expressed gratitude for the enriching learning experience and the opportunity to interact with the speakers. They found the activities engaging and informative, expanding their horizons, and igniting their passion for learning and personal growth.
