School engagement project at SMK Kampong Kastam
UTAR Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) of Kampar Campus successfully held an inspiring school engagement project at SMK Kampong Kastam on 7 June 2023. The event featured a range of enriching activities designed to equip secondary school students with essential skills, and motivate them towards academic and personal success. The event saw the attendance of 100 Form Four and Form Five students.
Aimed at inspiring and motivating students to overcome challenges, CFS Kampar Campus academic Remie Lee Ren-Yi delivered the talk titled “How to Find Motivation Within – 8 Golden Ways”. Remie Lee provided the students with valuable insights on finding motivation from within, equipping them with practical strategies to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
On the other hand, CFS Kampar Campus Deputy Director Lim Khiew Loon spoke on “Interview Skills”. Lim enlightened the participants with essential techniques to excel in future job interviews. He also imparted knowledge about the job market and the expectations of prospective employers.
Following this, another academic from CFS Kampar Campus, Ho Wai Yew, conducted a “Resume Writing Workshop”. The workshop emphasised the art of crafting resumes that capture employers' attention. Students learned the importance of highlighting their achievements, skills, and experiences to create compelling resumes.
The project wrapped up with a souvenir exchange ceremony, followed by a group photo session. The feedback from the participants was highly positive, with students expressing gratitude for the chance to enhance their personal growth and academic development. They also expressed their hopes for CFS to continue organising similar activities in the future.
