Organising committee and participants of the workshop
“STEM Week 2023” organised by SMJK Jit Sin, Penang, from 13 to 15 June 2023,
saw participation from UTAR, and more than 2,000 students and teachers.
The “STEM Week” covered a variety of mathematical and robotic activities,
providing teachers and students with a platform to demonstrate and
experience mathematical science. Among the activities conducted during the
workshop included, an introduction on nanomaterials and its application to
environment and food packaging by UTAR Faculty of Science academic Dr Tey
Lai Hock, along with postgraduate students Chan Yu Bin and Cheah Shi Yan.
During the introduction, the visitors were also exposed to recently
award-winning projects awarded in the
9th International Biotechnology Competition and Exhibition 2023 (IBCEX
2023), and research activities conducted by UTAR.
