UTAR received visitors from Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia (PUMM), also known as Malaysia Entrepreneurs’ Development Association on 30 June 2023 at its Sungai Long Campus.

The visitors were PUMM President Tan Lay Seong, PUMM Vice President Dato Dr Teh Tai Yong, PUMM Secretary-General Daniel Dea Yik Hwa, PUMM Central Committee Eric Lim Jing Jie, PUMM Central Committee Nick Tan Yeet Fhong, and PUMM Members Brandon Teh and Michael Koh

They were welcomed by UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat, Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM) Dean Dr Pok Wei Fong, FAM Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial Training Low Chin Kian, Division of Community and International Networking (DCInterNet) Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn, Department of Soft Skills Competency (Sungai Long Campus) Head Fook Oi Yee, Unovate Centre Manager Lee Yan Yin and Department of Alumni Relations and Placement (DARP) Senior Assistant Manager Lee Wan Poh.

A meeting was held between both parties to discuss student internship programmes, job opportunities for graduates, entrepreneurship competitions and many more. Faculty of Business and Finance Dean Assoc Prof Dr Au Yong Hui Nee and DARP Manager Kong Pui Ling joined the meeting from Kampar Campus via Microsoft Teams.

At the meeting, both parties discussed about providing UTAR students, who aspire to start their own businesses, with a chance to join PUMM and benefit from valuable advice and information offered by the organization at the career fairs organized by UTAR. After an enjoyable session of exchanging ideas, both parties concluded the meeting by exchanging souvenirs and capturing a group photo together.
