Visit by Jilin Medical University

UTAR received visitors from Jilin Medical University (JLMU) at its Sungai Long Campus on 24 July 2023.

The visitors were International Exchange Representative Zhang Yuancheng, Southeast Asia Representative Office of Liaoyuan Municipal People’s Government Chief Representative Li Yaoqiu, Manforce Group Founder and Managing Director Dato’ Paul Wong Boon Ming, Jilin Chuanbo College President Niu Meiyu, Jilin Chuanbo College General Department Head Quan Haiming and Zhang’s personal assistant Jin He.

They were welcomed by UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat, M. Kandiah Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial Training Assoc Prof Dr Leong Pooi Pooi and Division of Programme Promotion (DPP) Director Lee Choy Fong.

After the presentation of UTAR’s corporate video, Prof Dato’ Ewe introduced UTAR and proposed a collaboration with JLMU. Zhang reciprocated by introducing JLMU and expressing his interest to know UTAR better. The meeting focused on topics such as dual degree programmes and the signing of a memorandum of understanding in the future. JLMU particularly showed interest in UTAR’s PhD programmes for their academic staff and master’s programmes for their students. The discussion laid a promising foundation for a potential academic partnership in the future.

The visit ended with a souvenir exchange and a group photo session
