CFS organises motivational talks for upper secondary school students
In an endeavour to impart students with valuable knowledge and inspiration, UTAR Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) of Kampar Campus successfully organised two school engagement projects for secondary school students in Penang and Ayer Tawar.
Aimed at inspiring and motivating students to overcome challenges, CFS Kampar Campus academic Remie Lee Ren-Yi captivated over 160 Form 4 and Form 5 students with the talk titled “How to Find Motivation Within – 8 Golden Ways” on 23 May 2023 at SMK St. Xavier. Lee provided the students with valuable insights on finding motivation from within, equipping them with practical strategies to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
Following this, CFS Kampar Campus academic Ooi Siew Fong delivered an informative talk titled “The Dangers of Vaping.” Ooi also conducted the same talk at SMJK Ayer Tawar on 25 May 2023. These talks garnered participation from over 250 students in total. Ooi’s talk aimed to raise awareness and promote a healthy lifestyle among youths. She exposed students to the meaning and ingredients of e-cigarettes, and shed light on the detrimental effects of vaping.
Both events featured engaging Q&A sessions, allowing students to interact with the speakers. The projects concluded with a souvenir exchange ceremony and a group photo session.
The students who attended these school engagement projects were deeply impacted. They described the talks as an eye-opening experience and expressed their gratitude to the speakers for sharing valuable lessons. They also felt more motivated to tackle challenges and make healthier choices in their lives.
