UTAR Sports Exchange Programme 2023

UTAR Sports Exchange Programme 2023 was organised from 29 May 2023 until 1 June 2023 by the Sports and Recreation Unit (SRU) of the Department of Students Affairs (DSA) of Sungai Long Campus.

The programme featured various sports games such as badminton, table tennis and futsal. It aimed to provide a platform for athletes to build networks and develop experience and skills in sports. A total of 108 players took part in the sports games.

The sports games were organised in three different locations, namely Southern University College (SUC), Sunway College Johor Bahru, and Kolej Profesional MARA (KPM) Bandar Penawar. UTAR students were warmly received by the representatives of the three institutions, namely SUC Senior Executive Ho Wi Saan, Sunway College Johor Bahru Student Services Executive Jeffrey Ignacio, and KPM Bandar Penawar Counselor Rumahazan bin Mat Jusoh.

The first day of the sports exchange took place at SUC. The sports began with badminton and table tennis games, followed by 7-a-side football and volleyball games. On the second day, the participants gathered at Sunway College Johor Bahru to play badminton, table tennis, futsal and volleyball games. The last day of the programme saw the participants gathering at KPM Bandar Penawar at their respective sports facilities for the games.

UTAR sports results for all three days

The Captain of UTAR badminton team, John Ling said, “It was an unforgettable experience and moment for me as a UTAR athlete. The team played well and we enjoyed watching the games very much.”

The sports exchange programme ended with the souvenir exchange.
