CEE conducts English language Camp for Kolej Tingkatan Enam Seri Ipoh students

Eighty-eight Form 6 students from Kolej Tingkatan Enam Seri Ipoh participated in the English Language Camp hosted by the Centre for Extension Education (CEE) on 23 June 2023. The camp aimed to provide participants with an intensive and fun environment to improve their English language skills, enhance cultural understanding, and promote language fluency.

The session was followed by a brief lecture on the basics of subject-verb agreement in English grammar during the tutelage session by CEE instructor Najihah Pazeer. In the session, students were energised and participated enthusiastically during the lecture session. They were able to properly comprehend the content and appropriately answer all questions.

The second part of the programme was jam-packed with exercises and games made to give students a general understanding of the fascinating and enjoyable features of the English language. Another CEE instructor Beh Heng Jian led an entertaining game session called The English Murder Mystery Case. The activities encouraged participants to actively use and practice English in a supportive and engaging setting. This particular programme is also aimed at enhancing and developing the soft skills of UTAR student helpers.

Students searching for clues to solve the criminal case

Students were divided into groups and moved between stations to collect clues and alibi to solve the murder mystery case. Each station included a variety of English-language exercises designed to promote teamwork and critical thinking. The session was entertaining and beneficial for both participants and UTAR student helpers.

With every moment cherished, this immersive experience became a catalyst for linguistic growth, empowering students to unlock their full potential. Through engaging activities and a supportive atmosphere, the Camp was able to nurture their language skills, foster unwavering confidence, and foster a deep connection with the English language. The students were able to embrace the vibrant tapestry of interactive learning while cultivating a profound understanding of the English language, which will shape their journey towards becoming proficient language users.
