The Faculty of Business and Finance (FBF) of Kampar Campus organised a two-hour online workshop titled Microsoft Excel for Accounting Students on 18 February 2023 via Zoom. The online workshop was conducted by FBF lecturer Ng Yen Hong and it was open to all UTAR FBF students.

The virtual spreadsheet workshop, which attracted a total of 257 participants, aimed to provide a platform for students to improve their Microsoft Excel skills by providing them with hands-on exercises.

The online workshop kick-started with FBF Dean Assoc Prof Dr Au Yong Hui Nee’s opening remarks. Ng then took the floor to demonstrate the practical lessons on utilising Microsoft Excel. Thereafter, she provided some spreadsheet exercises to the students. The exercises were comprised of Data entry, basic formula and format cells; absolute cell referencing; conditional logic; drawing graphs; pivot table; and Vlookup. The participants completed the spreadsheet exercises by keenly following the step-by-step instructions from Ng.

The interactive workshop concluded with an insightful Q&A session, followed by a photography session.
