Don Bosco Institute of Higher
Vocational Education, Sri Lanka visited UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 13 March
2023 to discuss and explore possibilities for future collaborations.
At the meeting, both parties
discussed collaboration in the areas of joint research and development, and
massive open online course (MOOC) programme. On top of that, other items
that were brought up during the meeting discussion were the upgrading of
bachelor’s degree programmes and employment opportunities.
Representing Don Bosco Institute
of Higher Vocational Education, Sri Lanka was its Principal Manjula
Priyantha SDB. Welcoming the delegate from Don Bosco Institute of Higher
Vocational Education were Vice President for Internationalisation and
Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min, Division of Community and
International Networking Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn, Division of
Programme Promotion Director Lee Choy Fong, Department of International
Student Services of Sungai Long Campus Head Foo Wai Wai and Centre for
Extension Education staff Wong Shin Chet.
Prof Goi gave an introduction
about UTAR and said, “I believe today will be a great opportunity for both
institutions to pursue further cooperative initiatives.
Manjula Priyantha SDB said, “I’m
hoping we can forge a stronger alliance that will be very beneficial for the
students at both universities,” as he explained the institution and the
population of Sri Lanka.
