UTAR reinforced its partnership with Industrial System Supply and Engineering Services Sdn Bhd (ISSES) through the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MoA) on 24 March 2023 via Zoom.

The partnership between the two parties started with the signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU) in January 2022. The MoU sought to promote academic and research cooperation in relation to energy efficient improvement on rubber glove drying oven system. Through the MoA signing, both parties will take on a new project, which is to research and develop a smart household electrical measurement gadget. The gadget will be able to measure or classify the power of different individual loads that are connected to a particular Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB).

In his remarks, UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat said, “It is truly a privilege for UTAR to be able to extend an agreement with ISSES. The smart household electrical measurement gadget has the potential to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste and promote a more sustainable way of living. Apart from that, both parties will also work together in areas such as research and development; sharing of expertise; postgraduate research and development and undergraduate learning activities; and sharing of resources, facilities, equipment and supplies.”
