Visit by Kanagawa Institute of Technology, Japan

Robotics and Mechatronics Head of Department Prof Kawarasaki Noriyuki from Kanagawa Institute of Technology, Japan visited UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 22 March 2023 to discuss and explore possibilities for future collaboration.

Welcoming him on behalf of UTAR were Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) Dean Assoc Prof Ts Dr Yap Wun She, LKC FES Master of Data Management and Analytics and Postgraduate Diploma of Data Management and Analytics Programme Head Dr Khor Kok Chin, LKC FES academic Ir Dr Danny Ng Wee Kiat, Division of Community and International Networking (DCInterNet) Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn, Centre for Extension Education (CEE) Director Assoc Prof Ir Dr Lim Jee Hock, DCInterNet Manager Ong Yoon Furn and CEE Assistant Manager Wong Shin Chet.

During the meeting, both parties discussed collaborations in the areas of robotics as well as inbound and outbound student exchange programmes. Another item that was brought up during the meeting discussion was the MOOC programmes offered by UTAR.

After the insightful discussion, the visit concluded with a tour of the laboratory and the presentation of a token of appreciation.
