A group of delegates from seven Macau higher
education institutions, namely the University of Macau, Macao Polytechnic
University, Macau Institute for Tourism Studies, Macau University of Science
and Technology, City University of Macau, University of Saint Joseph and
Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau visited UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 27
April 2023. The group was led by Macau Education and Youth Development
Bureau Deputy Director Mr Teng Sio Hong.
The visit aimed to provide a platform for the
institutions to discuss potential collaboration opportunities. It also aimed
to promote networking sessions.

The discussion kicked off with the presentation of
the UTAR corporate video to enhance the delegates’ understanding of the
overall development of the University. Prof Dato’ Ewe, in his welcome
remarks, gave a warm welcome to the Education and Youth Development Bureau
of Macau and the representatives of the seven higher education institutions
from Macau. He shared a brief introduction about the University and said
that there are plenty of areas in which UTAR and the seven higher learning
institutions can work together. On the other hand, Mr Teng thanked UTAR for the
opportunity given to deepen the communication among the involved parties. Mr Teng looks forward to discussing them further on.
An in-depth discussion was carried out among the
involved parties, which promoted the exchange of information. Among the
possible areas of collaboration discussed were sharing of expertise and
joint development of research, staff and student exchanges, academic
development exchanges, study tours, industrial placement, etc.
Aside from that, the visit also saw the exchange of a
memorandum of understanding (MoU) between UTAR and the City University of
Macau.

The visit ended with a campus tour after the souvenir
exchange and group photography sessions.
