MMLM holds talk for SMJK Katholik students

A talk titled “Be a smart student in the 21st century” was organised by Malaysia Mental Literacy Movement (MMLM) in collaboration with UTAR Centre for Corporate and Community Development (CCCD) and UTAR Division of Programme Promotion (DPP) on 11 April 2023 at SMJK Katholik, Petaling Jaya. The talk attracted a total of 560 Form Three students.

Invited to deliver the talk was West Wong, a mental arithmetic expert in Malaysia who has been dubbed as “Malaysian human calculator”. In his talk, he stressed the importance of mental literacy among students and shared the techniques of memorising formulas of Maths. This cognizance can help the students achieve a better understanding of their school subjects, enhance their interest in study, and improve their results in exams.

Sharing the pleasure of holding the event, SMJK Katholik Counsellor enthused, “The talk, which included interactive and hands-on activities, provided a more realistic and exciting experience to our students and allowed them to learn in a motivating way.”
