Guests from Fujian visit UTAR

UTAR Sungai Long Campus received visitors from Pingtan Research Institute of Xiamen University and Xiamen Dalai Education Technology Co., on 17 April 2023. The purpose of their visit was to explore potential collaboration opportunities with UTAR. Xiamen Dalai Education Technology Co., also visited UTAR Kampar Campus on 14 April 2023.

The visitors were Pingtan Research Institute of Xiamen University Dean Dr Lin Fan, Pingtan Research Institute of Xiamen University academic Li Fang, Xiamen Dalai Education Technology Co., General Manager Meng Ying and Assistant Li Qiaozhen.

They were welcomed by UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat, Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min, Division of Community and International Networking (DCInterNet) Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn and Division of Programme Promotion Deputy Director for International Student Recruitment and Business Development Irene Wong Hong Lei. A meeting was held between the involved parties to discuss collaboration possibilities for the twinning programme, student exchange, credit transfer, etc.

Another separate meeting was also held with the faculty representatives at Sungai Long Campus to discuss potential collaboration. The representatives were Institute of Chinese Studies Dean Assoc Prof Dr Chong Siou Wei, Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) Deputy Dean Assoc Prof Ts Dr Lee Kim Yee, Department of Chinese Medicine Head Leu Kim Fey, Faculty of Creative Industries (FCI) Department of Multimedia Design and Animation Head Dr Wan Irma Sabrina binti Idris and FCI academic Ts Ng Perng Jeu.

The visit ended with a group photography session and a souvenir exchange.
