Visitors from Digital Bridge
International (DBI), located in Markaz Knowledge City of Kerala, India,
visited UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 2 May 2023.
Present were Markaz Knowledge City CEO
Dr Abdul Salam Mohammed, DBI Managing Director Dr Abdurahiman Chalil, DBI
Chief Advisor Hemeed Kanhirakkandy and DBI Academic Advisor Dr Ibrahim Afsal
Valiya Thodiyil.
UTAR representatives who welcomed the
visitors were UTAR Vice President for R&D and Commercialisation Prof Ts Dr
Faidz bin Abd Rahman, Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC
FES) Deputy Dean for R&D and Postgraduate Programmes Assoc Prof Ir Dr Ling
Lloyd, LKC FES Department of Civil Engineering academic Dr Ong Chuan Fang,
Division of Community and International Networking (DCInterNet) Director
Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn, Centre for Corporate and Community Development
Director Lim Guat Yen, Department of Consultancy and Commercialisation
Manager Hamrizal bin Haris and DCInterNet Manager Ong Yoon Furn.
The purpose of the visit was to seek
possible collaboration opportunities between DBI and UTAR. At the discussion
session, topics such as mutual credit recognition programme, student
mobility programme, upskill and reskill courses, and many more were
discussed. The guests from DBI showed interest in UTAR’s railway engineering
programme as well as the railway development in Malaysia. They expressed
their intention to begin collaboration in that area.
The visit ended with a souvenir
exchange and a group photography session.
