It was a meaningful night for the community of UTAR Kampar Campus, as the university has seen a significant step towards a sustainable future. The Group 2 of UTAR Public Relations Corporate Social Responsibility (PR CSR) Project 2023 “The GreenBankers” officially launched the Green Bank Project on the night of 25 April 2023 at the Heritage Hall of UTAR Kampar Campus.

For the special occasion, The GreenBankers teamed up with their close friend, “DermaHope”, the Group 1 of UTAR PR CSR Project 2023, to make the “Grand Launching Ceremony of the Green Bank Project by The GreenBankers” a vivid moment for the audience. By incorporating the elements of green environment and 6Rs (Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle), the team prepared a series of jolly performances to show everyone the joy and innovation of practising 6Rs in daily life. By doing so, The GreenBankers introduced the core value of the Green Bank Project, which aims to promote successful waste segregation culture among UTAR staff and students through the Recycle Ranger Programme.

As the air in the dark hall suddenly quieted down, a spotlight was shone on an individual. Dressed in a stylish attire made from unusual materials, paper, plastic and textile wastes, the individual trod in a solemn-yet-showy manner around the side of the hall and to the stage. The fashion show saw more than 10 attire designs unveiled one by one. Every attire screamed novelty, for they were meticulously designed by their creators with the concept of the 6Rs firmly in their minds. Creativity abounded in a single place, there was no wonder voices of astonishment and admiration rang out from the audience’s lungs from time to time. The proud designers of the attires were the members of The GreenBankers Beh Han Qian and Lee Xue Yun; and student helpers Kelvin Goh Wei Jin and Mandy Wong Man Yee.
