Campus Visit by Secondary School Students

UTAR Division of Programme Promotion of Sungai Long Campus organised a campus visit for secondary school students from three schools in Johor, namely SMK Taman Mount Austin, SMK Permas Jaya 3 and SMK Desa Cemerlang on 6 May 2023. The purpose of the campus visit was to provide the school children with valuable insights into academic and career opportunities. The visit also aimed to give them a chance to experience the atmosphere, energy, and day-to-day life on campus.

The visit began with a talk on mindfulness and stress reduction, led by Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) lecturer Ir Dr Lee Wah Peng. The talk equipped the students with practical strategies to effectively manage stress and improve overall well-being.

After that, a presentation on how to become an architect was presented by LKC FES lecturer Ts Tsao Khee Ern to inspire students to explore new career pathways and pursue their passions. In his presentation, he spoke about the subjects in the programme, career prospects, and the skills needed in the job market.

The visit ended with a campus tour, which allowed the school students to look around the university’s modern facilities and experience its vibrant atmosphere.
