The UTAR Hospital received a donation of RM1,314.10 and two portable speakers from MPU34132 Management of Sports Activity subject (January 2023 Trimester) students, during a mock cheque presentation ceremony held on 3 May 2023 at Kampar Campus.

It was a beautiful effort by 105 students from three sports projects under MPU34132 Management of Sports Activity subject (January 2023 Trimester), namely “Smash Pro” Badminton Competition, “Fight4Dream” Basketball Competition and “Ace it Up!” Volleyball Competition. These three popular and healthy sports activities received active participation from students and members of the public.

Present to receive the mock cheque was UTAR Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations Prof Dr Choong Chee Keong, accompanied by Department of Soft Skills Competency (DSSC) Head of Kampar Campus Hee Chwen Yee and course advisor Fong Kah Hoong.

Acknowledging the effort and dedication of the students, Prof Choong said, “I would like to congratulate all parties, especially the students who have worked hard for this event. Your effort is well recognised and I am honoured to announce that the proceeds from these events will be channelled to the UTAR Hospital. The events have gained an accumulated profit of RM1,314.10. This was not an easy feat as the committees only had around three months to plan and carry out the event. Thus, I would like to congratulate all the involved committees for this success.”

“The MPU34132 Management of Sports Activity is an interesting subject because it allows students to learn outside the classroom. It also provides a platform for them to apply the hard skills and soft skills they have learned to organise events,” he said and added, “I believe this will be a valuable and unforgettable experience for all of you. Your effort will still be there even after you graduate.” He also shared the latest development and future prospects of UTAR Hospital during the ceremony.

MPU34132 Management of Sports Activity is one of the elective subjects of Mata Pelajaran Pengajian Umum (MPU-U4), managed by the Department of Soft Skills Competency (DSSC).
