UTAR Department of International Student Services
(DISS) organised an Eid Mubarak celebration on 28 April 2023 for the
international students of Sungai Long Campus. The main purpose of the lunch
was to give the international students, who were unable to return to their
home country, an opportunity to celebrate the festival.
It was a lively lunch celebration with a variety of
Malaysian foods served, such as rendang, lemang, sayur lodeh,
ketupat and many Malay snacks. Some of the international students also
brought cuisines from their home countries to the lunch. Finally, a lucky
draw session was held with five lucky students chosen as the winners. They
walked away with UTAR pewter pens and UTAR flasks.
Overall, the lunch celebration brought together
students and staff of different cultures to celebrate the wonderful Eid
Mubarak festival.
