UTAR STEM Outreach Committee organised a STEM Education Workshop for 100
students from standard one to standard six at SJK(C) Yuk Kwan on 6 October
2023.
The programme was led by Assoc Prof Ir Ts Dr Leong Kah Hon, the Deputy
Director of the Centre for Corporate and Community Development. The workshop
was divided into two sessions; one in the morning and one in the afternoon,
with each session accommodating 50 students. Five different workshops were
conducted, such as Mini Concrete Block, Drinking Candle, Walking Rainbow,
Paper Clip that can Float, and Floating Paper. The primary goal of these
workshops was to stimulate the interest of school students in science,
technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and foster their creative
design skills.
