UTAR received visitors from
Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), China at its
Sungai Long Campus on 17 November 2023. The aim of the visit was to discuss
international cooperation on the exchange of Traditional Chinese Medicine
students and academicians.

University of TCM consisted of its Vice President Mr Yu Hao, College of
Nursing Chairman Prof Shi Guofeng, Acumox and Tina College Science and
Education Department Deputy Director Assoc Prof Zhang Ning, First Affiliated
Hospital Scientific Research Department Chief Prof Liu Yang, Second
Affiliated Hospital Gastroenterologist Dr Cui Junsong, and Guizhou
University of TCM students.

The visit saw a discussion held
between the two parties. Their collaborative efforts extended to jointly
organising research and contributing to the advancement of shared academic
interests. Both parties hope their partnership will go beyond the classroom
by enabling UTAR Hospital’s doctors to actively engage in learning
experiences at Guizhou University of TCM Affiliated Hospital, furthering
medical knowledge and fostering a global perspective in healthcare
practices.
The collaboration between UTAR and
the Guizhou University of TCM encompassed various fields, cultivating
academic relationships. In the areas of student exchange at the master’s and
PhD levels, both institutions prioritise the exchange of knowledge and
cultural diversity, providing students with enriching experiences.
Additionally, the exchange of academicians enhances the academic landscape
by promoting cross-cultural learning and collaborative research initiatives.
