BE International Marketing Sdn Bhd donates to UTAR Hospital

The BE International Marketing Sdn Bhd donated a total of RM1.5million to UTAR Hospital at a simple mock cheque presentation ceremony held on 27 November 2023 at the T&CM Centre of UTAR Hospital.

The mock cheque was presented by President and Managing Director of BE International Marketing Sdn Bhd Ir Lee Suet Sen and Executive Vice President of BE International Marketing Sdn Bhd Ms Ho Huey Chuin to UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat and UTAR Hospital Deputy CEO Ms Maria Khong.

In his speech, on behalf of UTAR and UTAR Hospital, Prof Dato’ Ewe expressed his gratitude to BE International Marketing Sdn Bhd and enthused, “UTAR Hospital is part of the growth and expansion of UTAR as a private university for the people by the people. Just as UTAR was set up as a not-for-profit university to provide quality affordable education to the people, UTAR Hospital will also be a not-for-profit private hospital providing affordable and quality medical services to the people. UTAR Hospital was established to provide medical and health services in both Western Medicine and Traditional and Complementary Medicine including Chinese, Ayurvedic and Traditional Malay Medicine. This Hospital will also provide education and training for medical students and conduct medical research for the advancement of medicine and healthcare.”

He added, “Today, we are very fortunate to receive the support from BE International Marketing Sdn Bhd, hence we would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to BE International Marketing Sdn Bhd. We understand that such a large donation represents a significant commitment on the part of BE International Marketing Sdn Bhd and we want to assure you that every cent will be utilised with the utmost care and responsibility to make a lasting and positive impact on the lives of those we serve. UTAR Hospital aims to elevate the quality of medical services and contribute to the improved well-being and healthcare of the local and surrounding community. With your support, we believe UTAR Hospital will progress further and continue to serve the people and everyone who needs the healthcare services.”

Ms Ho sharing her joy to be part of the growth of UTAR Hospital

Echoing Prof Dato’ Ewe’s sentiment, Ms Ho said, “BE International is honoured to contribute to UTAR Hospital. BE International understands the great significance of promoting the development of the medical and healthcare sector in Malaysia, as our goal has always been to bring good health to everyone. Just as every patient who has loved ones supporting them, UTAR Hospital also has a group of people who contributed their efforts to the development of UTAR Hospital without asking anything in return.” In her speech, she also described the wall painting of BE International at the T&CM Centre of UTAR Hospital by saying, “The sunflowers in the painting not only represent ‘smiling faces’, but they also represent ‘life’ and ‘dream-pursuing’. Hence, through this painting, we hope to bring passion to patients’ lives and motivate them to pursue their lifelong dreams.”

Also present at the donation ceremony were Head of President Office of BE International Marketing Sdn Bhd Ms Ho Huey In, Head of Corporate Communications of BE International Marketing Sdn Bhd Ms Charlie Cheah, Corporate Communications Assistant Manager of BE International Marketing Sdn Bhd Mr Victor Chong and BE International Marketing Sdn Bhd CSR Committee Ms Tammy Pan.

UTAR and UTAR Hospital staff who were present to witness the donation ceremony included Director of T&CM Centre Assoc Prof Dr Te Kian Keong, Faculty of Business and Finance Head of Department of Business and Public Administration Dr Siti Fazilah binti Abdul Shukor, Head of Department of Alumni Relations and Placement Ms Tan Cheng Wah, Head of Department of UTAR Chancellery Mr Lim Swea Jen, Head of Division of Corporate Communication and Public Relations (Kampar Campus) Ms Saravani Selvam, President of UTAR Alumni Association of Malaysia Mr Simon Chong and other UTAR Hospital staff.
The ceremony ensued with a mock cheque presentation and souvenir exchange ceremony, and subsequently ended with group photographs and a short tour of UTAR Hospital.
