June 2023 FYP Poster Competition and Industry Interaction Day at UTAR

The biannual Final Year Project (FYP) Poster Competition and Industry Interaction Day (IID) for the June 2023 trimester was organised by UTAR Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) on 19 September 2023 at UTAR Sungai Long Campus. The competition aimed to provide an opportunity for the final-year students to demonstrate their independence, originality and ethics; cultivate their research interests; prepare them for a real competitive environment; train them to showcase their talent, skills and ideas through their projects, and motivate them to participate in external competitions to gain more exposure.

It saw a total of 54 shortlisted posters under nine different tracks, out of 334 poster submissions by 348 students from various LKC FES departments. The nine tracks were Track One: Department of Architecture & Sustainable Design (DASD), Track Two: Department of Mathematical and Actuarial Sciences (DMAS), Track Three: Department of Mechatronics and BioMedical Engineering (DMBE), Track Four: Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (D3E), Track Five: Department of Internet Engineering and Computer Science (DIECS), Track Six: Department of Surveying (DS), Track Seven: Department of Civil Engineering (DCI), Track Eight: Department of Mechanical and Material Engineering (DMME) and Track Nine: Department of Chemical Engineering (DCL).

The posters were evaluated by a total of 23 judges based on the poster’s appearance, content and organisation, as well as the student’s oral presentation. The top three posters under each track were awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes, which were RM200, RM120 and RM80 respectively. All the participants also received a certificate of participation. Furthermore, the winner of the Most-liked Poster Award, was awarded a cash prize of RM150 and a certificate.
