The UTAR STEM Outreach organised a STEM Outreach programme in conjunction
with “STEM Fair SMJK Yu Hua” on 7 October 2023 at SMJK Yu Hua, Kajang. The
fair saw more than 4,000 participants.
Facilitators of the programme were Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and
Science academics Ir Dr Goh Choon Hian, Dr Hau Lee Cheun, Ts Yeow Kah Niam,
Dr Ong Chuan Fang, Assoc Prof Dr Steven Lim and M. Kandiah Faculty of
Medicine and Health Sciences academic Mr Tarun Amalnerkar. Joining the
programme as student assistants were Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of
Surgery students Chik Yuki and Foo Eugine.
The programme saw the academics organising five STEM hands-on activities and
a talk for the SMJK Yu Hua students. The five hands-on activities were the
Demonstration of Mechatronics and Biomedical Innovation Projects,
Architecture Quiz, Illustration of Surveying Equipment, Chemical Engineering
Showcase and Little Steps to Better Health while the talk was on
Physiotherapy.
