School engagement projects for SMK Methodist (ACS) Kampar students and teachers

Sixty Form 3 and Form 4 students of SMK Methodist (ACS) Kampar had a fruitful and enjoyable learning experience at the accounting workshop titled “Accounting Counts” organised by UTAR Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) of Kampar Campus on 22 September 2023. The workshop was facilitated by CFS Kampar Campus academics Hanani binti Abd Ghani and Tsen Tzu Yee.

The workshop aimed to expose secondary school students to career paths in the accounting field and spark their interest in accounting through various interactive and engaging activities. The workshop began with Hanani introducing various fields of accounting, captivating students with intriguing real-world examples. This was followed by Tsen’s valuable insights into the career paths and essential skills required to become an accountant.

The students then participated in hands-on activities, including an accounting quiz and a crossword game that required them to apply their accounting knowledge and teamwork to complete the tasks. The group with the highest score at the end of the workshop walked away with a prize. The students were enthusiastic and fully engaged in these activities.

The workshop received positive feedback from the students. Ammar Rafique bin Mohammad Azran from Class 4P shared, “I learned a lot today, especially about the career path of an accountant. This workshop reaffirmed my ambition of becoming an accountant.”

Furthermore, on 23 September 2023, CFS Kampar Campus organised a memorable campus visit for the teachers of SMK Methodist (ACS) Kampar, in collaboration with the Division of Programme Promotion (DPP) and the Faculty of Engineering and Green Technology (FEGT).

The School Principal Hardave Singh Virk, along with 34 teachers, participated in the “Stress Management Workshop” conducted by CFS Kampar Campus academic Bhargkavi Pari.
