Success story of UTAR alumnus

UTAR takes immense pride in the achievements of its alumni who continue to make significant strides in various fields after graduation. Wong Zhe Jia Fook, better known as Jeff Wong Zhe, graduated from UTAR Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science in 2018. The Civil Engineering graduate is currently the managing director of Tian Tian Tonic.

Jeff Wong Zhe’s entrepreneurial journey showcased not only his dedication and innovation, but also how the foundation he laid during his tertiary studies played a pivotal role in shaping his path to success.

The journey began when Jeff Wong Zhe recognised the increasing demand for natural and nourishing products in a fast-paced world. With a passion for health and an unwavering commitment to quality, he and his team embarked on a mission to create a product that would blend tradition with modern convenience.

According to Jeff Wong Zhe, at the heart of Tian Tian Tonic’s success lies its flagship product, dripped-extracted pure chicken essence. Jeff Wong Zhe mentioned that UTAR’s Unovate Centre provided him with a strong foundation by fostering an entrepreneurial culture on campus. His journey to the helm of Tian Tian Tonic was marked by a fusion of academic knowledge and practical experience gained during his university years, which proved instrumental in the research and development phases of his entrepreneurial venture.

Jeff Wong Zhe also explained that he encountered a fair share of challenges in his entrepreneurial journey while establishing Tian Tian Tonic, from sourcing premium ingredients to fine-tuning the extraction process which requires meticulous planning, research and development in retort technology, quality control and assurance as well as high perseverance.

Jeff Wong Zhe shared, “I hope to inspire the current and future students to make a difference in the world.
